Vert a sun rayonné throughout Or surmounted by a pile Vert throughout issuant from sinister chief and charged with four plates in bend sinister;

Symbolism

The green background represents the central place given to green technology by Mr. Mann’s company, Mann Engineering, in retrofitting commercial buildings for energy efficiency. The enlarging diagonal band represents the growing importance of green technology, based on the sun’s energy. The four white discs represent Mr. Mann’s children by their number and the moon by their colour and shape. The moon and the sun represent cool energy (yin) and hot energy (yang) respectively, illustrating a world-view found in his wife’s Chinese heritage.
