Arms of Emma Bergman CampbellBlazonPer pale Argent and Gules a laurel leaf counterchanged a canton Gules charged with two maple leaves conjoined at the stem Argent; SymbolismMrs. Campbell’s ancestral heritage is German, and the arms reflect her mother’s family, the surname of which is Nobbe. The bay leaf, botanically known as Laurus noblis, is a heraldic pun on the name “Nobbe”. The maple leaves represent the better home the family desired and for which they came to Canada to find. The red and white are the colours of the arms of her mother’s ancestral German home of Halberstadt as well as of Canada. |
